The beach is only seemingly a composition of colours and materials, of solids and voids. In reality, it is a fluid landscape shaped by relationships, energy, well-being, and contemplation, elements that make it a place of enduring uniqueness.
The project reinterprets the public environment through a contemporary lens, organising the space according to the spatial logic of a typical Salento beach. This vision informed every design decision, creating an atmosphere that enhances the sense of warmth and relaxation experienced when standing barefoot on the sand, gazing towards the sea.
The entrance acts as a threshold between the city and the interior. A filter zone gently accompanies visitors inside, inviting them to leave behind the pace of urban life and enter a soft, sunlit environment. From here, attention naturally shifts towards the counter, clad in tiles designed by Studio Gdb, and the central seating area. Above, a suspended composition of panels arranged at varying heights generates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, adding rhythm and depth to the space. Along the rear wall, a sequence of niches offers more intimate settings, evoking the hidden sea caves of the coastline and creating quiet places of retreat within the larger environment.
The resin flooring plays a central role in the project. Through its texture and colour palette, it recalls the movement of waves meeting the shore, where the tones of golden sand blend seamlessly with the blue of the sea. This coastal imagery is reinforced by the essential language of the interiors: striped textures, circular light fixtures, and surfaces that alternate between transparent, glossy, and raw finishes, all contributing to a space that subtly echoes the forms and atmospheres of the natural landscape.
